‘Nother new guy here, exhaust question?
Hi all, have been searching for many questions for my 1993 cbr 1000f with only 9900 miles, and I picked it up about a month ago, I have found all of the answers on this site, totally awesome information. So, I have a friend who has a 1995 superhawk 1000, and wants to trade pipes for my stock, he has brand new Yoshimura slip ons. Being that I haven’t messed around a whole lot with the cbr, just went through everything, carbs, fuel, electrical and what not, I’m not really sure if they will bolt up. Anyone have ideas, or should I just leave it alone? |
My $0.02. Cherish that stock pipe. Your ears will thank you.
Additionally, you'll likely not receive any performance benefit from the Yosh pipe without carb work, and even then any gains will be at RPM's that you rarely use. |
Yeh, your probably right, and I thought about it after I typed it out, always better sticking with the stock. Thanks for the reply as well. |
There ARE aftermarket pipes that sound decent without deafening the rider and don't need much (if any) carb work. But the stock pipes on the 1000F's sound pretty decent IMHO.
If you find a pipe for a decent price, try it out. But hang on to the stock pipe...you'll be tempted to go back to it after a bit. |
