Default Noob to the forum for Columbia SC

Well hello, My name Ward im from Columbia SC

Im new to the forum not so much to bikes and ive had my f4 since November. Didnt pay much for it but rode it home. Since ive had it ive replaced all pads, every fluid, APE manual cam chain tensioner, new tires, HID, and dropped a tooth in the front. Only issue ive had outside of the stocck cct whinning has been a voltage regulator. I bought an electro sport and am pretty happy with the unit they sent, and the bike already had a yosh slip on.

Either way mods on the way will be new chain and sprokets, Full cage, sub cage, custom twelve bar (dont like the regular ones offered) maybe a jet kit. Opinions welcome guys. Anyone close to SC??

Welcome to the forum, Ward!

Nice f4 you have there. Check out the regional section to find members near you. I've seen a few around from SC.

Thanks and will do. I got it for $1600 so i cant complain athough i had to fix some special ed stuff from the PO lol. I am curious about the suspension. Seems lowered in the back but everything seems oem. I know the front is with fork spacers. Does it seem low to you as well?

Welcome Ward! Good lookin' F4!

I'm an F4 owner as well. Good to had more F4 members to the forum! ;-)

Yes, both the CCT & R/R have been problematic w/ both the F4 & F4i. However, both are easily replaced/upgraded. I've written at length in the F4 section about the new finned version R/R that Honda developed that supersedes the old flat R/R that was prone to overheating & failure. As you mentioned the Electrosport replacement, it is a quality product as well. Hope it performs well for you.

You asked about your bike's suspension. Yes, it does appear to be lowered...both back & front. I can readily see that the forks are too low in the triple. The top of the fork is supposed to be 33mm from top of the triple.

If you don't have a factory service manual, there are links here on the forum (F4 section) to free downloads. The manual will provide the info you need.

For $1600, I think you got a great deal.

It's a good bike. It nearly fell victim to lack of proper care. It has 33,000 on the clock now and still doesnt burn in oil or have any issues although i am getting ready to pull the valve cover and do overhead. I was looking through the service manual but dont see much on identifying components on the rear suspension. I know the front has spacers but my main concern is the rear. I dont see any aftermarket lowering link but i am wondering if the wishbone could have been swapped from another bike.

Maybe I'll get to see you around town sometime soon. I live over in Lexington. I just joined and am in the process of trying to buy a used bike.

welcome sideswipe!
Beautiful bike, and for that price was that thing stolen!?
It looks lowered to me, and I'm not even a cbr wizard.
I'm in east TN so not too far away but still a good drive, maybe we'll cross paths one of these days.
