Hello All....
I have been a reader of the site for a few months and am blown away with the Camaraderie and have just signed as a member.
I have ridden bikes off and on since as long as I can remember but the CBR1000F series 2 is my true love. I am on my second CBR1000F2 after selling off my first after a minor hiking accident left me with a seriously shattered left foot and I life changing permanent injury that the specialists stated would not allow me to ride again.
Two years on against their predictions I walk normally but avoid strenuous activities that could damage the nice internal hardware
. As any ridder knows, watching others ride past you is worse than the injury. About 6mths ago while interstate and feeling a bit toey I took a friends Suzuki Hayabusa for a ride to see where I was at and after a nice run stepped off the bike without any issues. After several debates with my wife and the surgeon, I had made up my mind to return to bike ownership.
After first contacting the owner of my former stead who understandably declined to sell, I immediatly started my search and although I could have purchased any number of modern road bikes, I was pretty set on the bike I trust and feel immediatly comfortable on.
I was lucky to find an immaculate 1989 model with only 34,000km and on only its second owner who had not long purchased it from the original owner but found it wasn't for him. (it even had the original handbook) The bonus was that it was already fitted with a dual Staintune system that was on my previous bike plus lambswool seat cover and Gearrack and bag. It was the buy of the century![Icon Bike](https://cbrforum.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_bike.gif)
He'd also gone to the trouble of having all the seals , chain and sprocket replaced as a precaution. It now takes pride of place in my garage and is ridden numerous times a week.
Sorry for the long winded introduction. I look forward to contributing to the site.

Welcome to the CBR Forum Kingair,
And thanks for the picture and intro.
Your CBR1000F looks fantastic, and you being able to ride again must be so sweet. And yes, there are a lot of great folks on the site who put in many hours assisting others all around the world. We have quite a number of members in Australia and our 7th state New Zealand![Big Grin](https://cbrforum.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Starting to get enough antipodean members that we might just to organise a CBR1000F run/meet down under!
Cheers, SB
