Default newbie with a project

So here I am hopefully not on a fool`s errand, fixing up a new to me 1988 1000f. I am painstakingly troubleshooting and researching as I go, so many thanks to all for the wonderful collection of information. I am also recording my issues, resolves and observations so hopefully someone else will benefit from what appears will be hours of hair-pulling, swearing and sweating. There will be times that I will sit here trying to pull that one piece of knowledge that I need to go that next step, but hopefully I will be able to get it out for at least one ride before it gets frosty. To have it done in two months too much to ask for? On a positive note, once running, it will pass road inspection as the previous owner has everything else done. Just got to this point, was beyond his knowledge and it wouldn't start for him. He decided to get a new one. I decided I didn't want to work on my Jeep anymore. And it begins....
Cheers from the Annapolis Valley, NS Canada

Welcome to the CBR Forum Richard,

Yes indeedy, you have come to the right place for assistance in getting your 1988 back on the road. And Demon and Turbulenz are kind with their praise of the CBR1KFers. The knowledge base of the guys is phenomenal and most problems can be diagnosed and repaired.

And we like to have a little fun while doing so.

Ask any questions you need, and post some photos of your bike when you are out of moderation.

Cheers, SB
