Hello all, I have been riding dirtbikes and dualsports for 15 years but I finally got my first street bike and I am proud to say it is a 1998 Honda CBR600F3. My last bike was a 2007 Kawi KLX250S that I did a big bore kit on turning it into 351, lowered the bike and had 80%street/20%dirt tires on. I definitely had the most fun riding it in the corners. Well that bike has sat for over a year because it was to light/tall to feel stable on the highway for my commute and my friend was up for a even trade for his F3. The previous owner had used the bike for a track bike and pray bombed the entire bike black. My friend then removed the fairings, fabb'd on a 2004 cbr tail and drilled the triple tree and added dirty bars. Along with the bike I have a spare fork assemby and rear wheel. While the bike is thought to have around 20k miles on it I keep reading these engines are bulletproof with proper maintenance. I take delivering next week and immediately plan on looking to see if the cam tensioner is factory hydraulic and if so while convert to a manual one. The chain looked beat so I plan on getting a new chain/sprocket kit and probably going up a tooth in the rear sprocket. Lastly while rolling along I if I hit the front brakes I hear a click and feel it in the bars. I assumed this is a stem bearing issue and ordered tapered bearing to replace them but if it could be anything else please let me know! I am looking forward to swapping info and following your builds and thanks for having me!

Welcome to the CBR Forum palehorse,

Sounds like you'll have the 600 sorted in no time. Post some pictures of it when you can.

Cheers, SB

As far as the CCT, I say don't fix what ain't broke. Run it till you hear it clacking.

I just came across a great deal on a 2006 honda crf450x so I have that now too. Have to say I am tempted to supermotard the 450... Raylee, sounds like a deal
