Just bought an '05 600RR. Limited riding experience in the past on friends bikes and dirt bikes etc. First time I've owned my own street bike and learned a lot from browsing this website so far.

Welcome to the forum Brian.
That's a pretty nice bike you picked up. Take care of it and ride within YOUR limits, not the bike's limits. Keep on reading and ask questions when you have them. Feel free to join in on the other fun threads as well.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, I'm looking into the MSF course for November. I race dirt sprint cars and our season keeps me busy on the weekends until end of Oct. In the mean time, I'm just trying to gather up as much information as I can. I watched the "Twist of the Wrist II" video, which I hope will help me start to develop good riding habits, and better understand how my 'survival reactions' can negatively affect what I want to happen. I consider myself a pretty conservative rider right now, keeping RPMs low and cornering slow. Experience on 4 wheels isn't doing me a bit of good right now! haha

If you want to check out my YouTube channel, it's got some video of me racing my sprint car.
