Just picked up my bike from a friend this last week. Have never had a sport bike before. Previously had a KTM 625 Dual Sport that I rode for a year in San Diego. Sold that when I moved to Washington. Have alot to learn and only a couple more weeks of riding before our long wet winter hits. Lots of work to do to the bike this off season. All knowledge I can pick up is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to CBRF olskool!!! Knowledge abounds here at CBRF. Be sure to check out the CBR900and How-To sections of the forum if you're a do-it-yourself kind of guy like most of us in here. Have fun with your new bike and keep the shiney side up.

Welcome to the board and congrats on your new ride! Post up some pics when you get a chance. And although a lot of peeps don't know this, bikes will go in the rain ... hard to believe but it is true Of course if you are just looking for downtime to start modifying then that is totally understandable.

I am sure at some point I will feel comfortable riding in the rain. Being new to sport bikes in general, I would rather learn in good weather than put myself at risk. The bike also needs some TLC, so I think it's going to work out for both of us. Doing the stator, voltage regulator and battery this next week and see what riding I can't squeeze in.
