Hey everyone im Shane I have a 99 CBR 900RR which I love. I have always been in love with CBR's just never came across the right deal on one until the other day. Which is the 900RR I speak of lol I couldn't pass it up but it has 200 miles on the rebuilt engine and the previous owner couldn't figure out what the knocking noise is so now its on me to figure out....lol he was riding it and out of nowhere it just started knocking I checked the cct and valve clearance and its all good and working properly could it be a bad rod bearing or something else?

I thought you said it was a rebuilt motor? What all was done? Any oil in the airbox?
Welcome to CBRF, btw! I'm sure you'll get it sorted. Maybe post a video of it (using photobucket links). That'd help. If you're certain it's some sort of motor noise, the best thing to do would be to get an automotive stethoscope and pinpoint where the noise is actually coming from. They're $13 at Harbor Freight.
I guess you'd need to know how it was rebuilt before you go guessing. It could be a rod, it could be piston slap, it could be a stuck/bent valve

Try to post a vid. of it running. Demon is a really knowledgeable mechanic - and we have a few others on the forum too. I'm sure they can help.
