Default New from SacTown

Sup all i am James i am from Sacramento, ca and I just bought a 2000 CBR 600f4 from a co-worker... she got hit pretty hard on the freeway so this is a project bike and soon to be daily rider.. my co-worker got off pretty lucky. she only got a slightly compressed verdeibra in her back and a little road rash on her wrist. she was stopped cause of traffic and the suburban hit her going 50mph. the bike needs a new tank, rear wheel and tire, rear light and a new rear sub frame other than that its ok...

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Sounds like your friend was more than lucky - 50 mph suburban hit is crazy.

Welcome James , sound like she was very lucky as it appears from your description
the wheel and frame took most of the hit.
You repairing it or having a shop do it ?

Complete frame integrity and alignment should be checked imo

Welcome aboard James.
Glad to hear your co-worker is relatively OK and still with us.
Getting hit from a Suburban at ANY speed would be deadly.
Keep us posted on your rebuild and good luck!

yea she has sworn off bikes for a while... she is taking this as a sign.. her grand father died on his bike so shes gonna take it easy for a bit..
on a good note i found a wheel and tire, and a sub frame on ebay and so far i am the winning bidder. i welded up the tank today it split right at the pinch welds. i might jusy use the new subframe to build a jig to build some cromolly subframes. i guess the only people that would want them are big guys like me or stunters.....
