Welcome to the forum!
Congrats on getting your F4! I've got a 2000 F4 as well...great bikes.
Many of us recommend taking the MSF Course - Motorcycle Safety Foundation . In many states, the successful completion of the MSF counts as both DMV written & riding tests. Also, many insurance companies offer a discount for the MSF as well. The MSF teaches basic riding techniques & safety, which is a great way to start learning, & learning in the right way. Be sure to check it out.
Once you get your license, RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE. Don't let yourself be intimidated into doing something outside your comfort or skill level. Always ride safe & w/in your limits.
Welcome to the world of motorcycling!!! :-)
