Default New rider and first time CBR f4i owner..

Hows it going guys. I'm a new rider who just recently bought a 2005 CBR f4i. One of the best decisions I've ever made. Seriously addicting! Ive got about 1800 miles under my belt and I'm getting more and more everyday. Been lurking on this forum for several months now and thought it was time to join

Welcome to the forum and riding!

Motorcycling is seriously addicting. You don't need to tell us..
Good to hear you're getting some miles under your belt. Where are you located? You are fortunate to live somewhere that the weather is cooperating. Many members still have their bikes packed away for winter. Good luck with it and stay safe out there.

Did you take a MSF class or rider training?

Thanks 74demon, I live in San Diego so I'm definitely pretty grateful for that. I did take the MSF course and might take a sportbike course in the future. Would like to learn how to take corners better.

It's supposed to be nice this week, enjoy it while it lasts!

The best way to learn how to corner better is by getting seat time. After you feel one with the bike, advanced courses will be good. Until then, ride and have fun.

True, but don't wait too long. Once you're fully comfortable with the bike's controls, I would go ahead and do something like Lee Parks' Total Control class and/or do a track day with an organization that has good coaching.

It's easier to learn proper form and technique from the start than to try to unlearn years of ingrained bad habits. I wish I had gotten formal instruction earlier in my riding career.

Welcome to the CBR Forum,

Glad you finally took the plunge! Good advice above, so now all you need to do is post some photos of your ride.

Cheers, SB

Thanks for all the welcomes and replies guys. I would really like to hit the track one of these days.

I was trying to modify my profile to add a avatar and add some pics of my bike but it says I dont have permission. Does anyone know why this is?
