New Rider and first bike
Hello all,
New to riding, got my license a couple years ago but couldn't afford to buy anything. Finally saved up enough and grabbed a 92 CBR600F2 with Smokin Joe plastics. Unfortunately haven't had much riding time on it yet, picked up a good size piece of glass shortly after purchase and while saving for new tires decided to go over everything and tune it up.
So far pulled and cleaned the carbs, cleaned and lubed the chain (which will need replacing soon), changed oil and coolant, clean and wax plastics, and checking and adjusting all cables. Taken a little longer than I had hoped, between only able to work on it on the dry weekends (been rainy in PA lately) and ordering parts and tools. Still have more work to do, it's got a K&N filter and slip on exhaust and I am expecting to have to do some fine tuning - carb syncing this weekend. Finally got new tires and should be able to get it on the road soon.
Been reading this forum since beginning this and wanted to officially join and thank everyone for taking the time write up the how-tos and share their experiences and knowledge. Manuals are a must have, but nothing beats experience.
Picture shortly after purchase.

Welcome to the CBR Forum,
Great first bike. Well done!
I'm of a weaker disposition with respect to willpower. I buy a bike, a cursory look over to make sure things are safe full of oil etc, then out I go. Gotta ride the buggers to se what else will go wrong.
Only failed to proceed twice during the last couple of rides...............
Cheers, SB
