New Rider
 
Just got my first bike 98 CBR 900 rr at 33 years old any pointers out there from veteran riders before I wipe out? also looking for tires I live in the Chicago area.

Hi and welcome! People are going to suggest you take a motorcycle riding course which is good advice. When you start riding with more expierienced riders don't worry about trying to keep up. Ride at the level you are most comfortable, they will understand.

welcome ! i have a 96 9RR and its an awsome bike ! deffinetly if this is your 1st bike take an msf class . always wear your gear . remember to ride like people are TRYING to hit you! and most of all Have Fun ! and post up some pixs soon !

Thanks all .. really appreciate the support even thoughthe loved ones worry its something that I have always wanted to do. I just literally go the bike two days ago. as soon as it get nice here in ChicagoI'll wash it and post some pics. Once again thanks for the advice and support.

congrats on the bike dude! ALWAYS be aware of everything going on around you. ALWAYS play out every situation while you are riding.. (if this guy hits the brakes i should....., if this lady pulls out in front of me i should.......) you get the idea. ALWAYS expect the worst case scenario!! assume that you are invisible to people in cages(CARS in case you didnt know that)!!

Hello and welcome to the site. You should take the MSF class they are very helpful in teaching you how to ride your motorcycle and all the safty you need to know about riding. Congrats on your bike be safe.:D
