Default New to the realm of motorcycles.

So, I got myself a bike. It's a 1997 Honda CBR 600 F3. That's the good news... Bad news is there is a lot wrong with it. It's been laid down a few times and the last time was the worst. It was my friend/neighbor's bike. I bought it for $350 and it needs a lot of work. All the plastics are bad, the front headlight/guage cluster bracket and everything attached to it(including the wiring harness) was damaged quite extensively. The tank has some small dents and a few scratches and the frame is scratched in a couple places. The radiator has a hole in it and it won't start. It doesn't seem to have power going to anything.

I just stopped by to tell a little about the bike and to let you know I'll have a lot of questions for everyone in the near future.

Scott

Welcome to the boards! Looks like you've got a good project bike on your hands. It'll be good for you to work on it, you'll learn alot about the bike.

Welcome. Good luck with the restoration. Ebay should have some stuff for you.

Thank you for the welcome! I'm not too happy about the reason I bought the bike but other than that, I'm hoping to get it in the shape my friend would have wanted it in. He's no longer with us...

The F3 is a great bike to learn on, very forgiving to say the least. Good luck on the restoration and welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the boards. Best of luck on getting her back together. It can be done. Ebay is your friend. Also don't forget about the vendors on here. Alot of them can probably help you out also.

Hello & Welcome

I've got some friends at dealership out here in NJ, so if you need anything new or have questions, I could be of some help. Good luck with it!
