New Member and New to me 1993 900rr
Got a 900 this past weekend and I'm in the process of putting it back together. Promblem is that the fuel system was in pieces when I got and thats what is maiking it hard to put back together. I've done some other reading reguarding the fuel pump. Any thoughts on bypassing the pump and going just gravity feed? Will it work and in all power ranges? Thanks in advance for your input.

What year is the bike? FI or not? I'd hazard a guess its FI if it has a fuel pump. I doubt you'll have any luck going to gravity feed, the pumps put out a fair amount of pressure, far more than gravity will and if it didn't require it to run properly they wouldnt have added it. All FI vehicles run their fuel at a higher pressure than carb'ed ones do. The injectors require it.

Thanks for the warm welcome. The weather here in Indy is not so warm. The bike is a 1993 900rr. The funny thing is the 93 to 95 had the fuel pump and the later years did not. Seems backwards to me. I've looked at the 900 forums and it looks like it will work without the pump. Guess we'll turn on the heater in the garage and give it a go.
