Hi CBRForum, my name is Tyler! First off, I'd like to say I don't own a CBR yet, but I'm trading my Crf250r for a nice F2 in about a month. I plan to learn as much as I can about the CBR's until my buddy puts a new clutch on the F2 and we make the trade. I'm pretty handy with engines in general, I do all my own work on my dirtbike (and both of my neighbors bikes).

This is what I currently ride!

Welcome to the forum Tyler!

What kind of shape is the F2 in? It looks like the CRF is in great shape. I'd hate to see you get the short end of the trade.

Thanks everybody! What a welcoming community this is! The CBR is a 1993. I forgot to mention that I am getting $800 on top of the bike. It'll have a brand new clutch, and the engine is in a good running state. All the bike "needs" is fairings. I plan to get a lot of powder coating (matte black) done to the bike and get some repsol fairings. I really am a sucker for Repsols! I live in a small town called Gloucester, over on cape cod. It won't be until April when I can get my permit, take my MSF course, and get on the road. Until then I will be riding up and down my dead end street, and in parking lots I would love to go for a ride with some of you from the forum, and I bet I'll be looking for advice!

Oh, and I forgot to mention: It has a D&D pipe on it, not sure if its a slip on or full exhaust. I'm probably going to take the bike for a ride this weekend!

Welcome to the CBR Forum Tyler,

Enjoy your ride on the CBR and most of all, take care out there. New ride, different power and handling characteristics. But as stated above, your dirt riding experience will put you in very good stead for road riding.

Cheers, SB

Thanks! I'm glad my dirt riding will benefit me - although this is a big step up.
