Question New member looking at buying a CBR and need advice

Hey guys! Glad to be on board here. My first post and I am already looking for a bit of advice.

I currently ride a Ducati and am trying to pickup a CBR. I am currently interested in a 2000 CBR 929. I was wanting to know if there was anything beyond the normal things to look for when buying this used bike? I plan on picking one up soon but If I have to wait to get the right one then I can just wait. I really like the look of the older models. Any links or advice would be really great....Thanks guys and I hope to be learning from you all very soon.

welcome to CBRF

go ahead and ask the people in 929 section, they would know better than any of us what to look for. CBR 929RR - CBR Forum - Enthusiast forums for Honda CBR Owners

good luck with your purchase.

Welcome to the forum maalox! What model Duc do you ride?

Anyway, you can't go wrong w/a 2K 929. Just do your searches & reads on the 929 here. Lots of good info.

Always have liked the 929 and 954's.

+1 what type of Duc?

And check out the 929 section as scorp pointed out, you'll get more specific answers that way i'm sure.

Thansk for the warm welcomes! I currently ride a Ducati Monster which I love but I also love the look and the style of the CBR's ever since my buddy had one years ago in 96. The look and the sound is second to none in my opinion.

I will check out the 929 forum's thanks for the help!

Monsters are great bikes. I read on ADV about a guy that rode his monster all the way up thru Alaska & back, on all types of terrain & weather.

dont get me wrong the monster is a great bike. It looks and sounds awsome. It just does not have the umph that I am looking for and the cbr has it.
