So I just bought a 2002 954 red/black with 3700 miles on it today for $5,500. I know its a hell of a deal and I bought it from a San Diego Police officer...i asked him not to give me any tickets if he ever pulled me over on his old bike...ha ha.
She has flushmount signals, arrow titanium exhaust, fender eliminator, steering stabilizer and frame sliders. The guy threw in front/rear pit bull stands, all the factory equipment replaced, and a Honda Care warranty until 12/07.
My first bike was a 1990 FZR 1000 (RIP) and I have not ridden in about 2 years now.
The ride home was crazy given my rustyness and the fact that the CBR is so much more refined than the old Fizzer.
I feel like a newb all over again...hoping for green lights the whole way and avoiding steep hills with signals...ha ha. [8D]
Well here I am folks...I look forward to learning as much as I can from you guys.
Later.
Edit: It also came with Michelin H2's and a targa solo seat cowl.

good to here about ex fzr owners, I just traded in my 92 FZR 1000 on my 05 CBR 600RR, loved the FZR but insurance is based on displacement where I am from and it was killing me, also the gas consumption was fairly high to. So I went with something a little smaller but lighter.

I loved the fizzer too...a beast to turn, but on the highway we were pals and the passing power was fun.
FZR1000's are hard to find in Ca. now'a days.
She was pretty beat up at the end. It took 15-30 minutes of intermitent cranking to raise the temperature and get the rings to expand enough to start the damn thing. The other big problem is that my uncle rounded off second gear some how, so when you got on the throttle hard in 2nd gear the bike would surge like the teeth were skipping. [:'(] What can you expect with 40k on it?
All I gotta say about the new gal is...I am in love. My new (to me) 954 would make my FZR look bad any day of the week.
