Hello all,

New to the boards here, just wanted to hop in and introduce myself!

I am on my second bike (both Honda's)... I learned 2 years ago on an '81 Honda CB750F (I know, heavy bike for a beginner!). I took it slow and learned the basics, rode that for about a year and a half, and then purchased my '02 F4i with 3xxx miles on it at the end of last summer. I gotta say, compared to the 30 year old carburetors, this whole fuel injection thing is great!

So far all I've done is a speedohealer to fix the wacky speedometer reading, and this year will just be maintenance, riding, and more riding!

The only thing that I had a quick question about, though, was I appear to be missing a few fasteners on the front fairings... I've circled them in the pictures below. I saw the link to the specialty metric motorcycle fasteners, but that didn't seem to have this bike listed. Does anyone know where to find out what the fasteners are supposed to be, and if you know, where I could find some? (My apologies if this isn't the right place to ask, I can start a new thread in a different forum if needed).

Thanks!

Wlcome to the CBR Forum,

Nice F4i - I don't mind the yellow and black paint. As for fasteners, hopoefully another owner has come across the problem before and sourced a size list. I know when I bought a set of fairing bolts for a GTR1000 it came with a diagram and size list.

Cheers, SB

Yellow bikes are beautiful! Fantastic taste Sir

I have nothing constructive to add re-fasteners, but welcome to the forum. From where do you hail?

Welcome to the Forum man... Those are lil black push pins... Im trying to find em online now... As far as the one on the right side of the tank is a normal screw... I left my F4i at home today as I put over 600 miles in last 2 days on her otherwise ide take a picture for you...

Black push pins you can snag from home depot or lows for about 50 cents... maybe a lil more

Welcome to the forum.

You could always go pick them up from a dealer. They probably have lots of them and they shouldn't cost too much.

SCREW, PAN (5X15) 90113-MCJ-000 $1.65

They are the same bolts.
If the rubber nuts are missing, you will need:

NUT (5MM) 90111-KW3-003 $3.67

What you're missing are screws, at least that's what I have. Same size as those that attach the front and side fairings. IIRC the nuts are held in place by a rubber grommet and can be pushed out of the frame if to much force applied. If all you have are holes under the cover, the grommets/nuts are gone. Good looking ride!

Thanks for all of the comments guys, and thanks for the helpful part numbers/hardware ideas! I'll try and find a dealer around here and see if they have anything.

I'm living in the Philadelphia, PA area now, so just waiting for the weather to shape up a little bit... can't wait until it warms up again!

And I absolutely love the yellow and black... kept finding red/black or silver/black bikes when I was in the market, but I wanted something that wasn't as common and was a bit easier to spot on the road.

Exactly! Mine is orange and black for the same reasons great attitude to have.

All black bikes do look pretty sleek and beautiful... I'm just not that brave personally.

So true! I like being visible, every little bit helps. I have the same color combo as yours, to include a yellow/black overlord jacket and rocket yellow helmet.
