Default New Honda Guy.

Hello all, So I just wanted to poke my head in here and check out how you bikers do things. Just trying soak up some info and plan out a MOD list before I buy my friends 00' CRB929RR. I spend a lot of time on other Honda forums because I've been a Honda owner my whole life, but this will be the first bike I've bought and worked on. I'm sick of borrowing my bother and friends bikes to get my fix so I'm taking the plunge, the civic just isn't cutting it anymore. I currently live in Milwaukee Wi but plan on moving to a warmer climate soon, I can't take these winters anymore. I should have my bike all set and ready to go in a couple months until then I'll just be lurking/stalking this forum.

Welcome to the forum.

If you can get a 929rr in decent shape and for a decent price, DO IT! You wont be disappointed. Of course, I'm a little biased I replaced my 929 with....another 929. I love those bikes.

It looks like its good shape, I'm a little worried about the maintence though, this guy went 7,000 miles without a oil change in his 09' SI... Were haggaling on the price but I'm sure I'll win soon, they just bought a new house and the wife wants to buy a new bedroom set lol!! What's the drawback of lowering a bike? I hear a lot of ppl are against it, plus let me know of some smaller mods to start with. You know like all those cool decals than give you more HP

Take advantage of the wife wanting furniture!!!

Lowering a bike changes the handling of it. It was designed to rotate on an axis to maximize performance. When you change to geometry, you can really mess things up. Unless you are really short and the stock height is a safety issue, dont do it.

Popular mods are:
-1/+2 sprockets, but give stock a try first. you may like it as is.
Steering dampener. A must if you are hitting hard corners.
Fork springs for your weight.
Lighter exhaust
power commander and get it tuned on a dyno

You will find the 929 has plenty of power. Set up the suspension correctly, and you are good to go!

So just wanted to ask you guys and see if this bike is a good deal, so it's a 01 Erion Racing Edition with 5200 mi it's got devil shotgun exhaust, Scott's Performance Steering Dampener, and rear eliminator kit. Comes with brand new, never out of the box Steal Brake Lines, two extra filters, tank bag and tank bra. He's asking 6500, it's a little out of my price range. I did find another one on Craigslist it not the Erion but it's a 01 with 12000 mi guy wants 3600 both bikes have never been dumped. I'm set on getting a 929 either way just looking for some input.
