Best way to go about that is probably to put some sort of ad on Craigslist. Something like "WANTED: CBR Fixer Upper for $xxxx or less" and insert however much you are able to pay. Don't forget about title transfer and taxes and such.

I have a lead on a 94 F2 for $1000 right now, I just have to come up with the cash. Also, how much is a title transfer and plates? Id assume it would cost as much as a car title transfer.

Oh yeah, how much are you guys paying for insurance? Do you guys activate it around april and cancel it when the season is over or do you pay year round? Also, how much per month are you paying? Im 22 and have never been in an accident or received a speeding ticket so my record is pretty clean.

 

It is 5.5% tax (no way to avoid that one, the seller may be nice and write in a reduced sale price for you) plus the pro-rated plate fee which will be about $11 or so right now and the title transfer is the standard $69.50 that you pay for any vehicle.

As for insurance, call and get some quotes. It is impossible to guess with insurance, there are far too many variables to take into account! My insurance is for a full year, I pay the entirety in a lump sum and it actually works out to be cheaper than paying 4-5 monthly payments with any other insurance place I got quotes from. Also I don't have to worry about paying for insurance in a month where I don't ride much, or not paying in a month where I find I can ride unexpectedly, like that 80 degree day we got in early March here...
