New Guy thinking about upgarding from a Ninja 250
Hello all, I'm new here and looking for a little feedback on an idea I have. I've been riding a Ninja 250 for about a year, putting about 5000 miles on it. Prior to the Ninja I had large Vespa scooter that I put about 6000 miles on. I'm toying with the idea of getting a new 600RR. I realize the CBR is infinitely more power than anything I've had before, but as some point I'd like to make the jump. In the total of 11,000 miles, I've had no drops, no accidents, but have had my share of close calls with people trying to run me off the road. Is the upgrade path from a Ninja 250 reasonable, if not what other recomendations do you have.

Hello, and welcome to the Forum Joshua. It seems like you have plently of exp to go with it so id say its ok to step up to the RR as long as you respect it and remember that you have alot more hp on tap. The close calls will continue. Have you taken msf yet? if not id advise you to do so before you purchase the new RR. Like i said you should be fine, you have 11k under your belt just remember to respect it.
Wheres the rest of the welcome crew? HUH? i know jewels just went to bed but wheres Classic and Shadow? oh well

Hiyu Joshua....welcome to our humble house of CBR' riders..
Mate , it sounds like you have plenty of road time compared with some new 600 riders..
I would say what you already know and that is the the 600 is a wicked little ride and when and if you get one ...just run your self in ,just like a new bike ....take it easy for a while till she feels like she belongs under you ...
Hey TX.... me old mate ...I am hovering around doing house'ie stuff .....mowin ... a bitta painting ... all those bloody lovely jobs that I CANT STAND! mate
Sorry I am slow ...but me misses says that I have been a bit slow for years now

Thanks for the feedback, I figured it was a reasonable step up, but after riding with a group and seeing a few 600 sportbikes in action their speed and power was a bit intimidating. I guess the other big question is do you think waiting for a 2009 with ABS is worth it or should I try to snag a deal on a left over 2007/2008 model. The wife has given the rare "Get what you want" greelight on this one.
Thanks again for the welcome and the advice.
