New guy from NoVa
Hey CBRF, my name is Chris and apparently I signed up here like 2 years ago and never did anything with my profile. Well now I just picked up a 2008 600rr. The previous owner had a small accident and sold it to me cheap just so he could have some extra cash. He's a good friend of mine and we had it checked out and it was given the go ahead. I am from the Front Royal, VA area but hang out in NoVa area quite a bit. Been in the car scene for about 7 years, and currently own a bagged 2006 Jetta 2.0t, but I've missed riding so I'm glad to be back on a bike. This is my second bike, first one was a 2002 R6. So far I'm enjoying the CBR quite a bit more than the R6.
Here's my son wanting to sit on the bike as soon as I got it home. Puddle under the bike is water, not a leak.

Welcome back!
He's getting the bug early, that's great. When my son was that age, I'd ride him around the neighborhood. He loved it. There was enough room for him to slide down into the front seat behind me, all secured in. We used to go to his school functions like that. Park closer and all the other kids saw how cool he was! Those were the days...

That's why i shoved him down in the front seat and have him hang on to my belt loops. They fit pretty snug in there. Just go slow, low speed smiles are the best for them. They think the world just putting a helmet on and being on the momo.
I dont think you can do any distance until they are much older. Check local laws on that.
I have a picture of it somewhere. I'll post it later, when I find it. It may be on a print though.

Welcome to the CBR Forum Chris,
Nice photo of your son. I used to take my daughter short rides on my BMW with her sitting between me and the tank when she was 3. She'd bang the tank with her hands in oversized leather gloves shouting "faster faster faster"
She's now 24 and doing her own year long trip around the world with her partner.
My son was on the back of my superbikes from about 6, to when he was 15. He had full racing leathers for the last couple of years and would mimic what I was doing in corners. Brilliant stuff!
He now has his own bike and is 21.
If they are interested, gently introduce them to riding in a safe environment - always with good fitting safety gear.
Cheers, SB
