I have found that the profile of the Shinko's were not as well balanced when going into a corner. I also recommend sticking with the size recommended for the wheel. Changing sizes alters the profile and thus affects the handling characteristics, and more often than not it's for the worse.
Ha those were the 3 brands I was stuck between. Heard the contis were real good for the money. dunlop is what is on the bike now so I was thinking the same brand but they're expensive and the pirelli o just found a really good deal on and have used their car tires so figured they have to be decently good. Dont think I'd go shinko though, price is low but they have to cut it off somewhere and I'd prefer not to cheap out on rubber that's going 100mph

[QUOTE=Doc Samson;1339621]I've run the Dunlop Q3+ and currently am running Michelin Power Pilot 2CT's. Love 'em both! The Q3's were way more tire than I needed at my skill level so I switched to the 2CT's and have been happy with them on the road and the track. No experience with Pirelli's but those look like they would be good high mileage tire for a sportbike!

I really wanted the dunlop again but they are not cheap. I'll probably try them on the next set.
I've used pirelli car tires so I'm hoping they'll be as good. 200 for the set

There are some good comparison reviews on YT for just about any tire out there. Shinko's are good for dirt or drag racing. I switched from the Dunlops to the Michelins because of the price difference, as well as most reviewers saying they'd be perfectly fine on the track unless you were riding at an upper level. I am an upper level... novice (lol), and they are working great.

I did read several reviews by older racers who noted that todays "sport touring" tires are on par with the "racing" tires they were using 10 or 20 years ago...

It's all good! I ran Shinko's on my 300. Much better than the stock tires but, yeah, had some quirky handling characteristics...
Here's a good short article on tire sizes. And funny enough, they're using an F4i.

I am currently running the Michelin Pilot Road 4 on my bike, have mainly used Dunlops in the past but bought these instead. Not done many miles on them yet but seem really good so far.

RE: tire size - There were always one or two guys on the 300 forum who seemed obsessed with getting a much bigger rear tire onto the bike. Probably the same guys that would add fake hood scoops to their Corollas...

Lol! Yeah, I didn't mention the spoiler because I assumed it was a given!
