Just picked up a CBR f3 so figured i would register and post up. Names Ben. I've been into honda vehicles almost all my life and just set foot into the bike world. The bike i picked up is a project bike (received it all taken apart) so I'm sure i'll have plenty of questions for you guys. Im currently a rising mechanical engineer and am trying to get away from cars and into something a bit cheaper (motorcycles).

Plans: collect all the parts i need, sell the ones i don't, and rebuild the bike with a f4i fairring conversion and 600rr tail.

Anyways Here's some pictures of when i got the project home. Got some extra parts with it as well (only have cell phone pics for now).

Hey howdy! Where about are ya hailing from?

Err, wow... So that's what my bike would look like if I tore it completely down. Guess all I've done is eviscerate her (redoing the wire harness). I do and don't envy you. I do because once put together I'd know everything was right. Don't because I doubt I could get all that together before riding season start.

Keep us up to date. When it comes to our bike the F3 forum mods, Juliet and IDoDirt, prolly know more about the bike than many current Honda engineers. I even better, IDoDirt seems to live to take pics of the innards of his F3s :)

I'm not too worried about putting it back together i just simply hope i can afford to. Im hailing originally from maine but now live in Charlotte, north carolina. My best friend lives in philly. The bike scene there is wicked!

No worries guys i'll have plenty of pictures once i start a build thread. Currently trying to figure out the best method to sell my extra parts minus ebay so i can start to get some money to buy the parts i need to get this project rolling...sucks you gotta have so many posts before you can sell parts on here but understandable.

First on the list, buy some fork seals then have my buddy who works for ohlins rebuild/show me how to rebuild my forks for me :)

Welcome, Ben! Holy cow, man... that gives a whole new meaning to the term "project bike" lol..
It looks like a big boy's erector set... :D

It's cool as hell you're doing it, though. You're gonna learn a ton about the F3/CBR, that's for dam sure.

Take it easy and enjoy the forum!
