Default New girl rider checking in!

Hello everyone! I introduced myself in the Ladies forum but I'd like to say hello here as well! My name is Kari and I'm a brand new rider, I just bought my first bike last Friday. This forum has been a great resource for me in the past couple of weeks, so thank you!

I'm from Western Washington and I'm really excited to start riding, the weather is just starting to clear up over here.

My bike:
2007 600RR Red & Black
- I'd like to eliminate the fender and possibly lower it a little. I got some taller boots but I still can't put my feet flat on the ground. I've been reading a lot about the pros and cons of lowering a bike and I'm not quite sure what I've decided to do yet. I do know that I don't feel comfortable without my feet flat on the ground.

Hey welcome aboard! Nice 600rr you have there.

I'm not much good on offering advice on lowering a bike. I got my F3 from a 5' 2" stripper and had to raise it to get my knees down below my shoulders Pretty sure you'll find the answer if you look around here.

a fender eliminator really helps clean up the rear of these bikes. And normally Id say no to lowering bike, but you need to be comfortable with it to learn. However If you could find someone that knows suspensions and can do it properly I say go for it.

That's a gorgeous RR you have Kari!! Welcome to CBRF!! I can't help you with whether you should lower your bike or not, but a search of this forum should at least give you some insight into what others have done and how it worked out for them. You should definitely feel comfortable on your bike, and with you being a new rider, that is even more paramount. You may want to consider taking some sort of MSF course too if you are totally new to bikes, and haven't done so yet. It's a worthwhile investment of your time and your 600RR will approve. ;-)

Good luck whatever you decide, and enjoy the forums!

Welcome Kari , very nice bike , makes sense to me that you'd want to lower it a bit
so you can feel safer when you are out riding. My opinion..... yeah lower it a little bit.
Enjoy the Forum, Ride Safe

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I have been reading a bunch of threads on the forum about lowering my bike and it has helped a lot.

I'm also taking the MSF class this weekend! I just got my insurance policy taken care of and I'm ready to start riding. I'm super excited

Welcome, Kari! Very sweet RR!
Glad you're getting some helpful info around the forum.
Best of luck with the MSF. Smart move by taking it. Hopefully you have some good gear, too.

I've been looking at the modifications you've done to your bike. It is really nice . I like the lights a LOT. I can't wait to start spending time and money modifying mine a little.
