Hey everyone. I'm a soon to be (as in, 4 days) graduate of U of Michigan, looking to get a CBR over the summer. I've been riding bikes since I was a wee tike, though mostly the offroad version.

I'm looking to get a '01+ F4i at or under 4k... I don't know if its possible though. Perhaps for my first road bike I should try the late 90's models? Is there any reliability issues I should look out for with them? I'm primarily looking to use the bike for enjoyment, but it will also be a commuter occasionally to work, and even making trips from Lansing to Detroit (around an hour). I'd really like to find something comfortable and reliable, in my pricerange. Any suggestions besides an '01-'04 F4i? Looking forward to learning lots here!

A little bit older F4 might fall into the price range a little easier unless you're willing to settle for a bike thats got some issues.
