New to the Forum - New to Riding

It seems I've taken up a new hobby in the form of motorcycling. Needless to say, fishing is going to take a backseat for a while. Wanna buy a boat?

I just took my MSF class last weekend (04AUG-06AUG), and bought my bike on Monday (07AUG). My new-to-me ride is an '05 CBR 600RR with just over 800 miles. My first ride took me 12 mile trip from the point of purchase to Motor Vehicles where I registered the bike and updated my license with the motorcycle endorsement. From there it was a 50 mile ride home, a trip that included 30 miles of highway.

First mods on the bike are Shogun swingarm sliders, handlebar ends, and frame sliders, of which I've installed the easy parts. I'll tackle the frame slider installation this weekend.

I'm looking forward to having some fun on the bike as well as this forum.

Yeah - I live on the south side of Lakeland off of Clubhouse Rd.

In advance, I'll say Welcome to Lakeland. If you don't mind riding with a newbie, shoot me an email when you're ready to ride. You can reach me at ksaruwatari@tampabay.rr.com

Grats on the new hobby and good luck with modding the bike!

I'd like to take you up on that boat offer but doubt I could afford it. :D I'm tryna get into fishing tho, I used to fish with my pops and uncles back in the day and remember it being hella fun.

Welcome to the board!

Well, I've got an 18ft center console set up with radar, color fish finder, GPS, and 2 VHF radios with a T-top, etc. I'll let it go for a reasonable price - I need another bike for the wife. She keeps threatening to take my bike for a ride . . . I'd probably let her take the 600RR and get myself a new one.

Here's a shot of the boat in the twisties-

If anyone in the Tampa Bay area wants to go fishing instead of riding, let me know.

On the other hand, I'd really like to get out and ride more. Since the bike is new to me, I'm putting it in the shop for its 600 mile oil change and inspection this weekend. I know, I know, it's a rip-off but I'd like a mechanic to lokk it over before I get my hands all over it. I get it back Saturday afternoon - probably just in time for the regulat afternoon thunderstorms. Oh well, time to get out the Honda Polish . . .

OK - how the heck do I get the pic to show?!?!?!
