Default New to forum, been riding for 25+ yrs

Hi all,

Hank from SD here. I've been riding since I was 14, which is pushing about 28 years ago. I've had a looong list of bikes and a bunch of Hondas, been only 1 CBR which is my current, but no-where-near-current, 97 Blackbird. I'd upgrade it but I really can't find a bike I like better, other than maybe an 03 Blackbird, and the differences just don't justify it.

My bird is currently setup for touring with hard bag mounts, tubular handlebar kit, corbin seat, Buell pegs, ZG touring screen etc. Good for 1100 mile days, ask me how I know

I'm in the process of some additional upgrades. I'm grafting on USD forks, a Penske shock, and looking for a 4 into 1 for it, and plan to add a jet kit once I find a pipe.

My bike history ranges from a 1977 KE125 that I bought for $15 and rode the wheels off for 3 years, to a 2006 KTM 950 Adventure S. My current stable is of course the Blackbird, DRZ400, and 92 TDM850.

Past Hondas include a 700 Sabre, 700 Nighthawk S, 87 VFR700, 94VFR750, 98 VTR996, a couple XR250s, an NX250, and bunch of ATCs, and I'm sure a few things I can't think of.

Here is me and my brother in law on our birds (both 97's). I'm in front like always

I love 80s and 90s hardware and tinkering and improving it. Really like oddball stuff you don't see everyday too, hence the TDM and the bird..

Here is my TDM before, in Nov of 09:

Here it is a couple months later!

PS if you happen to have a Blackbird 4 into 1 laying around - check my WTB post!

Merry Christmas!

Wow looks sharp! Great pics.

Although by most of these guy's standards you're a young spring chicken. Just ask Trout how old he is.

25 years gets you in the door - just !
Great to see another Bird -
Come and visit down in the Blackbird and Hurricane sections - you'll find a few kindred spirits - just don't go through the doors of the Hurricane Saloon unless you have a good sense of humour.
Enjoy what we have to offer.
