New to forum 98' CBR600 F3

Hello all. Names Blake, and I'm brand new to the forum and also brand new to the CBR scene. Bought this 1998 CBR600 F3 2 days ago. Little background on me, I grew up on dirt bikes and wasn't long before I was on the bigger displacement dualsport type bikes. Other than a 99' BMW650F. This CBR will be my first road bike, or first sports styled road bike rather. Anyways I bought the bike cheap. Needs some TLC. Tires are in bad shape, fuel petcock leaks like a Siv, fairings have seen better days, and all the small stuff you expect from a 98' that probably has most of the OE still on it. So, if you've got any tips or just wanna say hi that would be appreciated. I'm very excited for this project and I do plan to move threw it quickly. I already have most the parts needed on order and expected to come in mail this week. Pictures coming soon...

Nothing like a road bike for the road. I think you will be happy.
Welcome to the forum.

That happens to be the very best color scheme ever created by Honda or any other manufacturer for that matter.
BTW, I have the same color and year. :)

Oh cool! Haha I also love the colors. So far the only fairings that were damaged to the point of needing replaire was the rear "tail" I ordered both rear sides and the little piece above tail light. They are just solid gloss black I hope it doesn't look too bad with the rest of the stock fairings. We shall see... And since you have this bike. What are your thoughts on the PAIR system. Leave it alone? Remove it and plug it off? I've read alot of different thing about it. And it the bikes age should I replace the 3 PAIR air filters?

That is a wide open question. There are several threads on it with just as many opinions. My personal preference is to leave it on as designed. My bike is totally stock and l like it like that. But I had one that I was going to mod, I might consider it.

The stock tail fairings is that crazy indescribable purple/fuchsia color. But they are very hard to find so I think black is a good choice.

Ok thank you for your replies. And I'm not sure how or if I can delete my redundant posts... It wasn't showing my replies right away. You'll have to forgive my noobish posting abilities.

It's an aftermarket Two Brothers slip on. Came with the bike and no it's not mounted correctly. It's extremely low and sticks out away from the bike. It's on my to-do list. I believe the OE muffler mounts to the passanger foot peg with a simple cuff. I'll probably try to get it as close to that as I can. But in the future I'll be getting a new pipe.
