New F2 Owner
Hey everyone, my name is Matt and I recently picked up a '91 F2. It's seen better days, but it has been through a few crashes and still runs really well. It needs a few cosmetic pieces, but mechanically it's in great shape. I'll be posting some pictures soon and hopefully starting my own project thread soon. Thanks in advance for all of the help!

Thanks guys. It really is a tank.
The backstory....one of my good friends bought this bike back in 2003 as a commuter bike while he was in college in Northern CA. He kept it stock for quite a few years, but then eventually started doing some track days with it. Back in 2007 he lowsided at 80+mph at Buttonwillow and basically destroyed the subframe in the crash. It sat like that until 2009 after I had just gotten my M1. He and I worked to put it back together and get it running and I used it as my starter bike. I rode it for a year or so before I bought my own motorcycle at which time it became our community bike that we would share with our friends that were getting back into riding. It's been crashed a few more times since then, but once you get it back up right, it always runs! My friend went on to collect some more of Honda's classic bikes and ended up needing to get rid of the F2 and I felt like I had to pick it up and keep it in the family. So here it is....
Oh...and I am located in LA, Pasadena to be more precise. I'll probably use this in the canyons (ACH), for a little bit of commuting, and maybe a little bit of track use (not decided on that yet).
I'd like to clean up most of the fairing panels, but can't figure out if I'm better off with a fairing kit from China, or trying to source the few missing pieces I need on eBay and just throwing those on. I definitely need a new cluster visor. I know the front fork springs are done and I could use a new rear shock. I will probably throw some SS brake lines on here and take a look at some better pads.
Any other ideas?
Thanks for the warm welcome, I can't wait to see what you guys have to say.

Hey and welcome to the forum!
Looks like you have a bit of a hybrid then? Looking at the tail, the fairings and the tail light are from an f2, but the mud guard/plate holder/turning indicators, the rear foot pegs and most definitely that rear shock can thing on the peg are from an F3, so I`m guessing the subframe is from one too?
Anyway looks like a good starting point for a project, needs a little love but nothing major!
