Default new CBR900

Hi, i just bought my second bike, a 1999 model CBR900RR. Just one problem guys, engine went off at 180Kmph and i heard a beeping sound. my friends found out the ignition fuse was blown. they wrapped a thick wire and tried to start the bike but fried the power pack. what should i do? Apart from getting a new power pack what could have caused the intial problem??
Pls help

Welcome to the forum. The only thing that I can think of is that you got a power surge, possible from the altenater, but you will have to take it to an auto electrician to confirm what it was just in case it happens again. Good luck and hope you get sorted soon.

Ask your friends to stop trying to help. Carry extra fuses they help prevent forest fires in your electronics.

Good luck with the 1999, I'm working on a 1998 and it seems like a good model.

Honda's don't seem as bad as all My Kawi friends made them out to be.

Thanks mate! would you believe it, my other bike is a Kawasaki GPz750.
But its CBR for me, no more Kawa for the time being.
Yeah this was an expensive lesson. Will carry extra fuses and other stuff next time. Right now the CDI and rectifier is on order.
jst one more thing, could this have caused any futher complications guys???
