Well, I got it all back together last night and was pumped to take it out for a ride. Filled it with gas, installed the battery and blah! Battery is bad already. Hooked the charger up to it and tried to get it to fire but it wouldn't. After about 10 min of trying the bike started but would only run at idle with full choke. eveytime I tried to give it gas the but died. If I brought the choke up, it died. Wonder if the petcock from the new tank it causing an issue or is it the bad battery. Once it started I would shut the charger off and could tell the alternator was not keeping up with the bad battery. Any suggestions?

I'm not saying that it's impossible for you to have some charging issues, but the battery will just get drained if the rpms are below like 3k.
