Default New CBR 929

Hi, let me start this off by saying this is not a "troll" job. I have read up and down the internet and come across some pretty silly stuff.

That being said, I have just come across a 2001 CBR929RR. I have felt it, and taken it out, and oh--my--god.. So spectacularly fast. Zero to stupid fast. I wonder if I may have a bit too much motorcycle though. I mean, I rode 600's and was more than comfortable with them. I got this and didn't think the learning curve could be so tremendous. Now I'm halfway pissed off and thinking I may just be in over my head. I'm not a kid..I am a grown man. Is this something to hammer out, or just give up and buy something smaller?

Welcome to the forum!
Hammer it out. You are a grown man, respect it and ride with maturity. I have the same bike. It's my second 929, I love them! Once you get comfortable on it, you wont want to ride anything else. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Respect the bike and she'll respect you.... Disrespect her and she'll buck you off
I hadn't been on a motorcycle for around 20 years when I bought my 1000F and after the first couple rides, I felt right at home on it... I have zero regrets with my choice.

Hi! Thanks for the input. I do think I am just going to grin and bear it. I am just trying to tap into the bike's personality. It is a gorgeous machine, and just want to feel like I am controlling it, and less like a hostage situation lol. I have been reading and have a wakeful understanding of what it expects out of me, and I, in turn understand what I want out of it. Like not to "highside" or escape my throttle control. I do appreciate the advice. I am just curious, cause I look at the bike and it has a hue question mark over it. It seems so angry. Like a demon that is waiting for me to make a mistake. But I absolutely love motorcycles. I rode 600's for years, and am just captured.

Stick with it. Once you master the throttle control you will be fine.

Being that you recognize the power that the bike has & the responsibility that comes w/ that, I'd say that you have the right mindset & maturity to ride the bike & "grow" into it. Spend some time getting comfortable w/ it. Once you get that "feel" & recognize your comfort level w/ it, you'll be fine.

Glad you found us. Welcome aboard!
