Default New to bikes & y'all guys

Hey guys. I'm Nathan, and I just picked up an 01 CBR600 F4i to keep from DD'ing my truck (too expensive on gas).
It's got just over 42,000KM on it, but still runs strong except for what I'm guessing is the CCT. I'll have to take a look at that next month.

It's got a little body damage on it.....cracked upper cowl fairing (right above the lowbeam headlight), both sides of the bank are dented in right in line with the filler cap, front bodywork has been rattle-canned matte black, seat cowl painted red (all painting done over the factory decals), it's missing the front fairings on both sides (the ones that cover the engine), and some parts have been horribly spray-bombed orange, with copious amounts of overspray. Oh, and the rims are 3 different colors.
Now onto the good!

Fairly new Battlax BT03's (March '12)
CW Under-tail kit
New battery (March '12)
New clutch (March '12)
Runs strong
HID Hi/Lo beams (****ty wiring job though)
Some sort of flush-mount LED"s on the front fairings.

And....the wishlist. Most of this work will be done over the winter, when I rip it apart. Some things will be done in stages until that point though.

Dark smoke windscreen (ordered 8/10/12)
New mirrors to pass safety (ordered 8/10/12)
All-new fairing kit (winter; auctmart or fairingsrus)
15/48 520 conversion (Possibly ordering before winter)
6-piston R6/R1 brake conversion w/ oversized rotors (Winter)
Smoked integrated LED tail light (Winter)
Debating on rebuilding the motor while I have the bike ripped apart. If not, new gasket kit to fix the minor oil leak.

Aaaaaannd......eye candy.

Welcome aboard.

Thats quite a wish list, sounds like a great way to spend the winter.

Definately need a build thread when you get started.

Welcome to CBRF Nathan!

Yep, that's a project. ;-) Look forward to seeing you bring it back to life.

BTW, that CWFE is improperly installed. ;-) I have the CWFE on my split-seat tail. I have pics/notes of my install here on the forum. You need to check those out & re-install yours properly. The main FE goes under the edges of the tail cowl. ;-)

Good to have you w/ us.

Thanks guys!
Gotcbr: that doesn't really surprise me. Honestly, I would be surprised if something was done right on this bike.
I'll take a look at redoing it sometime this month hopefully. First I need to clean up the wiring; the PO turned it into a complete rats nest!

Welcome to the forum! Your bike kinda looks like mine at this point. I just got it back running after my accident.

Enjoy your stay!
