New 87 Hurricane Owner
Hey. My name is Matt, I'm in the San Diego area. I'm no stranger to motorcycles, but I am new to street bikes. I traded my welder for an 87 Hurricane 600 project. Man, I love craigslist. It looked pretty rough, but I've seen bikes in worse condition. No fairings, battery is dead, needs new front brake calipers, needs right hand clip on and throttle/kill switch assembly, needs ignition/keys, and to be cleaned up. It has upgraded showa forks, and an aftermarket fox shock with an adjustable resi. Overall in great condition. Just needs some help, here and there. It'll get better gas mileage than my truck, so I figured the price of the fix up is worth it.
I want to go for the streetfighter look, but with a passenger seat, as my girlfriend will be on it a lot. Came with the white/red tank, painted the bottom of the tank black. I'm going to pull it apart and clean up the wiring and paint the frame black. Gonna get some aftermarket lights, aftermarket speedo, tail light, etc. Any suggestions for the build ahead? And anyone have extra parts in the San Diego area?
