New 600 Rider (96' F3)
Hi everyone!
I just recently picked up an F3 a few weeks ago. My first 600cc bike and my 2nd bike in the lineup. This will be my 3rd season on the road, the first two were spent on my trusty 09' CBR 125 R HRC- a.k.a "The Angry Lawnmower".
For those of you in Toronto, Canada - hope to see some of you folks on the street this season!

Welcome to the forum.
Congrats on the new to you bike! The 600 will have tons more power than the 125 you are used to, but the riding principles are the same. Looks like it has had a few mods already, which is a good....maybe. How does it run? Good I hope.

The engine is sound - however I don't think the previous owner did their proper maintainence.
I havent had a chance to ride it on the road yet but this is what I've done so far:
Havent checked the spark plugs yet - but I havent seen/heard any mis fires or sputters. No odd noises either for me to bother checking valve clearences yet (I've opened the 125 for that - a little shy about touching the insides of a much larger engine).
May take it for a decent ride today to break in the new chain!
I havent had a chance to ride it on the road yet but this is what I've done so far:
- New chain (old one was dropping o links when i cleaned it ...
) - New brake pads front and back (they were almost bare). Rotor inspection was good atleast.
- I thought the brake fluid reservoirs were empty because i couldnt see a level. It turned out they were filled to the brim. I'm assuming the previous owner felt loose breaks and just filled er' up instead of inspecting the breaks.
- Cleaned up the fender, custom fabricated a strong tie and added led signals
- Cleaned up front signal wiring (it was a mess)
- Electronic flasher relay ( i hate in line resisters)
- New oil and filter - switched to Rotella T6 5w-40
- The original oil came out pristine, but i wasnt sure of the filter. didn't take a chance.
- Will be topping up the coolant - Contemplating a flush. We'll see.
- Rectifier looks like it's been replaced with a GSXR - wiring looks clean.

Welcome to CBRF!
I had very little knowledge of bikes before I came here, but with the help of these good folks and alot of trial and error i'm getting there. There's a whole wealth of knowledge and helpful people here.
