Default My first Bike

http://pictures.autotrader.co.uk/ATD...a?id=584030944
Hi Guys, here's my new bike. Its my first motorbike as i dad a direct access a couple of months ago. Bought it today already having lots of fun. One question though.......There's a sort of intermitent rattling noise that comes from the engine when it idles. I phoned the guy and he told me it was the cam chain tensioneer. Is this bad and does it need fixing urgent? Thanks for any help guys.

P.S If anyone lives near Brighton and fancies teaching me a bit about how to go round corners i could do with someone to ride with.

Tom

Hello and [sm=welcomesign.gif]to the site!!
Clean looking F3, too bad I can't show you around corners as I live on the other side of the "pond"
Without hearing the noise can't really tell you if it's the cam chain tensioner or not but it sure is a possibility.
Good luck!

Welcome to the site. Don't know if it's the CCTL cuz you say you here the rattle at idle. I thought that the CCTL rattle only occurred at 5000-6000 rpms

Hello & Welcome!!

I tried editing your post to show your picture but I am not on my home computer and it's causing some problems. If you click the little yellow box that looks like there are 2 mountains in same and insert the link, it should appear in your post.

teaching me a bit about how to go round corners
It is OK to go slow around corners, but if you ride with more experienced riders, PLEASE do not try to keep up with them, always ride at your own pace. As time goes by, your speed will pick up.

Welcome to the site.
