Default Might be buying one tomorrow! Take a Look!

Alright guys, finally got in touch with a guy only about an hour from here, has a 1997 F3 for sale... What are some specifics I should look for? For $800, makes me feel there is a lot wrong with it... the pics are hard to tell... aside from missing a mirror, and some busted fairings, which is quite ok with me, as I'm a new rider...

Here's the description:

1997 Honda CBR 600f3. Black/Red/White. Mechanically sound. Some body damage. Headlight works, although needs to be rewired. Needs left mirror.

A few questions I already want to ask him are:
Mileage?
How extensive is the damage? Is it only the mirror and fairings?
Maintenance?
Transmission?
Breaks?
Tires?
Clear Title?
Headlight rewire?

Definitely test driving it, and where all should I check for leaks? Oil pan, where else?

Did you look at it?
I would think as long as there aren't any bad leaks, noises, etc... and it runs ok without smoking like a chimney.... it's probably worth 800.

Bought it!

No leaks, sounded just fine, a bit loud as it has a Yoshi pipe on it, not much damage, I'll make a new thread tomorrow, when I can take some good pics of it. It has a lot of little tiny aesthetic problems...

The tires look ok, but the chain is pretty ugly... might need a new one, I definitely want new gauges... as these are hideous, and the tach needle is broken, and the needles dont light up at night at all... : \ the gauges do, the numbers etc, just not the needles.

Its missing the right side mirror, and the headlight needs to be rewired.

The guy threw in a brand new helmet, my size, a slightly used Rocket Jacket, my size, and some A* gloves, also, my size!!! Got the whole thing for $800 with the goodies.

Wow you came up. You can get some cool looking mirrors from ebay for like 30 bucks. you can probably find faring pieces too and just repaint them or repaint the whole bike.

I don't mind the color, and it really isn't too scraped up, it has these neat little pegs that stick out so if it gets dropped, it hits those...

I would love to do the Black/Red 2001 F4i fairings with a black 2003RR tail/seat, but that will come with time.

Do I need specific mirrors, or any will fit?
