Maryland new member - Brief intro to all...

Hello fellow riders!

New to the community and am looking forward to taking part and utilizing all the wealth of Intel available. I like to think I may have some useful input too at times. Anything to help others and strengthen the comrodery.

I reside in the suburbs of Wash DC; in Germantown MD within Montgomery County. I grew up in Montgomery County and still love this area.

I have been riding on and off for 25 + years and have had a handful of various bikes.

Currently, I have a 1993 CBR F2 in the Red/White/Blue color scheme. I purchased it about 4 years ago for $200 in Ft. Riley KS. I was out there for a 3 year tenure working on a project involving the newly constructed military hospital on post.

Not knowing at the time what I was getting into, I dove into a frame off restoration. Nearly 4 years later and proudly seeing my results, I have zero regrets as I learned a heck of a lot by trial and error. After everything was said and done, the bike ended up being a resto-mod; I have added some tasteful, custom accents.

Quite candidly, somewhere between loneliness and a self admitting mid-life crisis, is why I purchased and took on such a large, time consuming task. I might add, that, my role in the Ft. Riley hospital project demanded that I live there until hospital was up and running; consequently, leaving my wife and 2 beautiful young daughters. So, I needed an outlet and something that I was passionate about!

Is this a long, drawn out ("brief") introduction? LOL Hey, just doing some sharing and letting you know a little about me and opening my door to all😉.

I look forward to being part of this great resource!

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Derek

Welcome Derek. I travel for work and know how hard it is to be out there away from home and the kids. It will pay off, just hard to convince the wife otherwise.
