I'm new to the whole bike thing. I have been building cars for awhile now and have a few buddys who ride. One of my buddys just got in a tight spot and needed money so i bought his project bike($300) and I am in way over my head. Its a 91 cbr600 with a overbored rebuilt motor (never been run) new clutch and full exhast. I also know its got a 900 swing arm and 900 front forks. The first problem is the 600 handle bars do not fit the larger 900 front fork. I also lack all the fairings, guages, turn signals mirrors and the seat. fml right? I know I'm in way over my head but I'm there now.
How common is this hybrid 600/900?
Where do I even start to look for parts?

Welcome to the board! It looks like you have a mess on your hands. I have never heard of the 600/900 mix and match but if you throw enough time and money at it anything is possible, eh :D

Good luck with the project!

If your not too set on building the bike, you could always part out the one you have. You should definitely be able to come out on top $ wise that way. Then use that for a more economical project to start with. All the parts you going to need based on the build im doing now are gonna run you in the $1500+ range if its done right, which im guessing you would want to do. Just my 2 cents.

im looking at doing a street fighter bike. I would not need very much to pull that off. right now im unsure on if im going to sell it whole, part it out or finish it stock or with no fairings.
