Default Just purchased a 900rr

New here from SoCal. Just bought a '97 CBR900RR that is in pretty good shape for a 12 year old bike. My last bike was a GSXR750 and I am impressed with how this bike handles and rides so much better!

Hey there Chris, congrats on your new bike. That thing's in pristine shape; real nice. I don't know why, I really like the style of the older bikes. Mainly the dual oval headlights. Cool avatar...

Beautiful bike, I'm always impressed with how well the styling of the older bikes has held up.

welcome to the forums, and yes a lovely old blade ... even though that is a 97 model
it's styling has hardly departed from the original 92 blade, just the covered lights
I think ... nice :-)

OK, so this is my very first Honda so bear with me...

This bike in nondescript. It was laid down at some point and the tank and fairings were repainted and all decals removed. I've noticed subtle differences in my bike and most 900rr's I see on the net. This morning, I took the seat off to recover it and found a small decal on the seat frame that has the following info on it:

CBR900RRV

Color: NH-1

Code: NH1Q

So, am I to understand that this bike is a "Fireblade" and if so, what are the differences (if any) from a regular CBR900RR?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Welcome aboard, great bike!

NH-1 and NH1Q are both black. I am not too sure what the difference between Color and Code is. Maybe Color signifies the color of the bike and Code is what you would give the dealer if you were ordering touch up paint.

As far as I know, the bike was called CBR900RR in the U.S.A. and Fireblade everywhere else.
