Default just got my hands on a '96 cbr1000f

I just recently obtained a '96 cbr1000f, though she's not pretty she is a beast. I got the bike by trading the guy the '90 ninja 250r straight up (win in my book). I'm looking to turn her into a streetfighter, naked sportsbike, whatever you want to consider it that's what I'm gonna do. The only piece that I'm having a hard time deciding on is what style headlight to use. There are multiple ones that I think would look good on it but if anyone has any suggestions I'm definitely up to hearing what you think. The only thing I have my mind really set on is the color, going with flat black.

I'm new to forums so if the image doesn't want to show, my bad. A little help on the situation would be awesome, and also I'm not allowed to access my photo's and albums. My best guess is it's because I'm a newb

Welcome to the CBR Forum HB86,

Good solid bike the CBR1000F so congratulations on your purchase.

As for photos, you can link photobucket images straight away, otherwise wait until the Administrators approve your membership (stops spammers and something we all had to wait for).

Cheers, SB

well you definitely found the place for hurricanes! welcome to CBRF!

and thank the lord we have another fighter-er here. as far as headlights, what are your plans for the front end? are you sticking with a bar, or clip on?

buell headlight
v-rod headlight
mt-03 headlight (what i'm using)
standard 7in round headlight
two 4 in headlights
any of the other fighter headlights
projector lights out of a car

the possibilities are endless. throw up a build thread in the fighter section and get to it!

I actually found some I'm at least 95% sure I'm gonna go with, they're 2 4" rounds already flat black (so I don't have to paint them). As for mounting I'm just planning on going with fork tube mounts, then I can get rid of the bulky bracket running across the front and fix up a way to mount gauges off the tube mounts above the lights. A little fabricating will have to take place to mount gauges but it ain't nothing I can't handle. As soon as I get clearance to add photos to my albums then I'll post some pics of the process as I get thru it

thanks for the welcome from everyone, I need to pull the carbs and clean them, check the floats and make sure they're set properly and the jets aren't clogged with anything. Then I need to pull the valve cover and adjust the valves cause there's a good chance it's never been done, but all in good time. Thanks to the awesome people here at cbrf I now have a workshop manual, was able to track down a couple wiring issues with the wiring diagram. As I attempt to raise her from the grave I'll add pics of the progress, and thanks in advance to everyone for any advice thrown my way!
