Introduction and a question
Hello all I am new to the forum, but have been riding for atleast 15 years. I am in the military and just got back from a tour overseas. I have the oportunity to get a new bike, but I need your help in deciding which one to get. I can get a new 2007 honda cbr 1000rr Repsol or a new 2008 honda cbr 1000rr black special edition bike. Please let me know your opinions about each bike such as the pros and cons of each bike. Thank your for your help.

RE: Introduction and a question
No contest Navy...the 08 is much improved over 07. Plus the special edition black is quite rare, you'd really be setting yourself apart. Both are superb machines, but you get more power, more torque, better handling, a slipper clutch, etc, etc.

RE: Introduction and a question
Does anyone here on this forum already have a 2008 special edition cbr 1000? If so could you please email me pictures of your bike or maybe a video of it to navyman71@yahoo.com. I have seen a Repsol up close, but I have never seen a special edition one up close. If you could it would really help me make my decision, because for some reason I cannot look at pictures in the photo gallery on this forum. Thanks for everyones input so far.

RE: Introduction and a question
Aye Aye capn'
I have an 08 black european release slightly different to the US LE black ours has a gold crank case for some wierd reason. One of the guys over here in the UK just bought an 08 Black the same as mine and he had a Repsol. It broke his wee heart I think to say goodbye to it but he has told me he does not regret it at all now he has his 08. I never had an earlier model so cant give a comparison from personal experience but there wont be many that given the choice would not take the 08.
Hope you happy with what ever you decide and hey at the end of the day you can always change it.
Stay safe good luck.
