Howdy from Upland, CA
Howdy folks...hard to find a forum that caters to the CBR650F so here I am. I've had my bike for 2 years now and still dig it.
So here I am with my 2014 CBR650F and happy to be alive and riding and enjoying life.
My early days on the street consisted of a used early Ninja 600 beater, which promptly got rear ended (that was "fun") less than two months after I bought it. Money from that went to a nicely tuned 89' hurricane 600. Now that was absolutely my favorite street bike. Properly jetted and tuned, grippy tires and suspension set up for my weight. Scored from a guy that tracked it a few times who happened to be my size. To me, the all white and minimal red streak graphics were beautiful at the time. That bike was a sweet canyon carver (for my level of skill anyway). Owned it for a couple of years then sold it for whatever reason. Most likely a stupid reason!
Then I got a 92' CBR600F2 new off the lot. Never. Ever. Got comfortable on that bike. Got rid of it after a year.
Now I'm 54 and loving my 650. I've added some bits here and there and still adding here and there. She's a keeper. She ain't perfect but a good all around bike. My 89' got me to push some boundaries in the canyons I won't even try to touch on this bike. Not because the bike is not capable mind you. I never had "mad skills" in the first place, I just happened upon a bike that gave me confidence and I pushed the boundaries farther back then.
So...I'm a three time CBR owner. And as an aside...ever wonder when and where engine kill when a kick stand is down and a bike is in gear came in to play? I still have a pin in my elbow from forgetting to put the kick stand up on a 74' Honda CB750. Bikes, for some reason, can't seem to manage a left turn if the kick stand is down. Go figure
