But if you were engaged/dating when you bought itthen she really is a out of line, she will be nothing but a controlling 'person' for eternity.
I think this is the real issue. You say you want to make her happy, but if she's not happy with you being the person you are,you might be in for a rought time. I can guarantee this won't be the last time she pulls this.

It's true that street riding is inherently dangerous, and depending on how you ride, it can be very dangerous. But having a reasonable, respectful discussion of her concerns is one thing, and calling you names and issuing ultimatums is something very different. You might decide that once she's pregnant or you have kids together, riding just isn't worth the risk, even with life insurance. But that has to be something you do because it makes sense to you, not because you were blackmailed into it.

If she doesn't respect the things you enjoy, she is not going to be good for you in the long run. My lady doesn't ride but she understands my passion. I will get her up on two in the next few years so she can truly understand why I like it so much.

If you don't know whether or not you should go through with it you will regret selling it. Stand up for yourself. Relationships are about respecting your partner NOT manipulating them to achieve your own ends. She's trying to manipulate you. You might as well roll over on every other issue that comes up if you're not willing to stand your ground on something you truly enjoy.

Make no mistake buddy, keep your bike, this is where you draw the line.
Beautiful statement...

Is she calling you irresponsible because you spent your entire savings on it? If so, she's right...that's definitely ill-advised...

Plus it sounds like you have an emotional investment pennies on the dollar with the bike--er, sorry, toy.

Yeah, sell it to someone who loves it more than they can afford it...
