Hope to soon be a new rr owner!
Hey guys,
My name is Lucas. I am 18 years old. I live in Northwest Indiana. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I really would love to have a bike.
I have not had a bike before, so this will be my first. I am a responsibly guy. Although I have never had a bike, I have had several quick cars. In fact, the funds for this bike will be coming via the recent sale of my bolt on 99 Camaro SS.
I am looking at possibly purchasing a 2009 CBR600RR with the black and green color combo. As you guys know, the sticker for these bikes are $9799. Obviously, I will not be paying that full amount. Especially with the economy the way it is..
What should I offer them? I plan on making an offer and having them throw in a jacket, helmet, and gloves. So what should I offer?
I appreciate the help guys.
Before I get any comments amount being spoiled and what not, I am very independent. I pay for my own vehicles, insurance, food, and clothing. Just not the house over my head. I am currently in the United States Navy, and leave on June 30th of this year.
Thanks again for the help.

Welcome to the CBRF Lucas
Mate ...your a new rider and you are going to spend all that cash on your first bike ... well congrates for sure are in order , but I am going to give you a small piece of advice that I want you to NOT get offended by ..ok
Unless you are rich and have years of dirt bike riding under your belt and have done a few!! rider courses?, why don't you just grab a near new, nice low miles 07-08 used one first to learn on ..? $6000?
or...even better
If I were you and I obviously am not I would get a real real nice F4i for $4000 .... enough said by me about that.... lest to say that while learning we all tend to have a few falls, or even small tumbles at low low speed
What ever YOU decide to buy, take care mate and have fun...
Chuck a few pics up when you get her ...
BTW : Need any help around here just PM me :-)
Some fast find links are below mate ....use them with my compliments ..

Welcome, Spoiled has nothing to do with it at 18 If I would have started off on a 600RR I would not be here right now. There's just no way my throttle hand would have been as forgiving as I would hope it would be. Please take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course near you you can look it up on google and they have a place near you to take it. it also takes the DPS diving portion off your license so it's worth taking and might just save your life!.
also about not buying a used bike cash, I think you should. You always drop your first bike, even if it's at a dead stop. But also the FULL insurance for an 18 year old on a Super Sport bike will be over 2000 dollars a year Easily most likely 3k+
Cheers to you for deciding to ride but buy used. a Ninja 250 will last you until you are tired of it and you WILL be able to resell it for exactly what you paid for it. Is that a deal or what!!
