Honda Fan in Flagstaff, AZ
Hi All!
After almost 10 years out of the motorsports scene, I now have 3 motorcycles in the garage. I have to use the right term, since I work in the bicycle industry and have quite a few "bikes" too.
After looking around in the local area, and finding hardly ANY sport bikes (its a cruiser town, Flagstaff) I bought a 2007 Ninja 650r, and regretted it almost immediately. Its not nearly sporty enough for my tastes and is actually a tad uncomfortable, being too upright for a cyclist who is used to being bent over.
My First motorcycle was a 82 Virago 500, rode that and sold it, then moving on to a 84 VF700f Interceptor (what a great engine!). It got stolen and stripped (by the impound yard - the police report stated the bike was intact and ridable when recovered, the bike was half stripped by the time I got to he yard a day later). I then got a 89 CBR600 Hurricane. Sold it because the pipe was too loud and the $600 for a stock pipe (pre-internet days folks!) from a wrecking yard was unreasonable. On the road after college i got around on my 75 Suzuki TS185.
I then got a 92 CBR600F2, and fell in love with the best bike I had ever ridden. One day ripping trough Balcom Canyon I did a stoppie crossing the double yellow to avoid a low side in the gravelled corner. Getting scared became more scary, and a move to Mammoth Lakes with snow 6 months a year all meant it was time to sell the RV, the motorcycle and lots of other stuff.
Which brings me to the 2006 CBR600f4i that now sits next to the Ninja 650r and the 84 Honda VT500ft that I bought for the wife to learn on (fun bike on its own).
The F4i is really perfect for me, plenty of power, great fueling (may be hard to go back to carbs ever again) and sweet handling.
The CBR got a new ft tire, a stock muffler and a track day (most fun you can have outside of bed).
Its a high of 37F today, so being on two wheels is not fun (for a whimp like me) and the garage is almost that cold. Hope you all are riding and having fun!
