Hihi, just ran across this forum while lookin for info on doing an oil change on my bike.

Just got an 01 F4i from my buddy when he offered to sell me his bike for butt cheap... decided that I couldn't pass up on the offer to actually have something to use for commuting again and took the msf course (AMO over in pasadena, amazing class and highly recommended to anyone thinking bout taking it), got my endorsement, and and bought it back in august. Since then I've logged about 3k miles and am still learning something new everyday.

Well if any of you ever see some dude on a white & red 01 F4i looking like he's trying his best to not kill himself... that'd be me.

As for the oil change... was a cinch with the advice on the forum. Only thing is, I took my buddy's word that he JUST did an oil change the week before I bought the bike and... well... let's just say the old oil looked like and was the consistency of a toilet bowl after a night of chili cheese fries and heavy drinking. Will have to him later! Bike rides horrendously good now though.

 

Kudos for taking the MSF Course! That was a very good decision...especially for LA riding!

Sounds like you've got a good F4i. Great that you're learning to do your own maintenance. Everyone should be able to do basic maintenance.
