Hi! Old ex-1987 Honda Hurricane CBR600F owner here!
The only sportbike I've ever owned was the original black and red colored CBR600F "Hurricane" that I bought new in 1987. I loved that bike, but unfortunately didn't get to ride as much as I'd hoped at the time, and sold it with less than 4000 miles on it.
Needless to say I'm much older now, and that baby boy, my son that I was taking care of at that time is all grown up now. I've taught him how to ride and now we both want to get new bikes.
Honestly I wasn't completely satisfied with the bikes being offered over the past several years here. The one's I liked most were ultimately too hardcore race-bike and too expensive for my needs and wants, and my son was in the same dilemma. We really liked the Hornet 600 (599), but it isn't available here in the US anymore.
I was almost in disbelief when I saw the announcement that Honda will be offering a brand new version of the CBR600F, heavily based on the outstanding Hornet 600 platform in the US! Now this is THE bike that my son and I really wanted all along. As long as the price-point is reasonable, our wishes will have been granted.
While searching around online for more info I came across this forum for the first time, and I';m glad I found it.
Who would have thought that after around 24 years later, in 2010-11 I'd be dreaming of and planning on purchasing a Honda CBR600F all over again!
Woohoo!
Next year should be a seriously fun one!
